grandma's bookshelf - Spectacular Science!

If you have grandchildren who are eight years old or older, get this book to try some great science experiments with them! You'll find 50 fun projects and lots of great information as to why it works, how it works and how it applies in the real world! Talk with your grandchild(ren) about how God made the laws of science and praise God with your grandchild(ren) for making our world so amazing!

A word of caution . . . I once showed a really fun science experiment a couple years ago to three children I babysat . . . you place a bar of Ivory soap - must be Ivory - in the microwave on a sheet of paper towel for three minutes on high. The soap grows into this amazing, puffy cloud! It is soooo cool! I stressed - or thought I did - it was absolutely essential for them to only try this experiment with an adult. The children went home and as their dad put them to bed - their mom was in China on a college trip - they heard an explosion and saw clouds of black smoke coming out of their kitchen! As the dad ran to see what happened, the boy said, "Hmmm. I wonder if that was my science experiment!" It was! Nothing burned down, but regular soap in the microwave for extended periods of time just doesn't turn out well! Be sure your grandchild(ren) know they are only to try experiments with an adult's help!
