Don't you just love cooking with your grandchildren?!!! Josiah was over to my house yesterday and as I was fixing lunch he noticed a box of Chex cereal on the counter. He asked me why it was there and I told him I thought we could make Muddy Buddies after lunch . . . he didn't want to wait until after lunch to get started . . . after all, they are one of his favorites, but he agreed to wait. So as soon as he was finished eating and noticed I was, he asked if we could make the Muddy Buddies . . . I told him as soon as I cleared the dishes and food from lunch.
He waited patiently and then it was time to make the muddy buddies! We measured the 9 cups of cereal into a bowl, and as I turned to get the chocolate chips, I heard, "I'm a cereal snatcher!" and turned back to see a big smile on his face as he ate a handful of cereal! I said, "Oh dear! Whatever shall I do? I have a cereal snatcher!!!! I wonder who the cereal snatcher could be!!!!" He said, "I am the cereal snatcher!" Then I heard, "I'm a chocolate snatcher!" and saw several chocolate chips disappear into his mouth! Once the muddy buddies were ready, I heard, "I'm a muddy buddy snatcher!" And as you can guess, he had a big smile and a mouth full of muddy buddies!
Part of being a grandmother is providing opportunities for your grandchildren to make memories . . . I hope Josiah always remembers being a "snatcher" at grandma's house!
