grandma's bookshelf . . . Letters and Coloring!

If you have young grandchildren who are learning their letters and colors and who love to color, these activity books from FlashKids/Sterling are great for gifts . . . or for anytime!

Written by - Jennifer Dryden
Illustrated by - Steve Mack
Publisher - FlashKids/Sterling
Ages - preschoolers - 3+

Favorite Features -
  • For the book Letters - I really love how it encourages fine motor skills, teaching handwriting techniques and introduces simple spelling
  • I love how Letters helps children learn to write letters, by first helping them learn to draw straight lines, curvy lines and circles - and gives plenty of space to practice drawing their letters!
  • For the book Coloring - I really love how it encourages fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and teaches pencil control
  • I love how Coloring progressively provides fewer "clues" for children to help them learn their colors and provides space for children to color their own pictures however they like
  • both books direct parents/grandparents to a website with free downloads and fun activities - www.flashkids.com
These books are designed for an adult to work with a child as they begin to learn their colors and letters . . . have fun working through them with your grandchildren!
