grandma's bookshelf . . . Dolphin Baby!

Dolphins are such amazing animals . . . so when I saw a new book from Candlewick Press about dolphin babies, I had to ask for it for review! If you have a grandchild who loves dolphins, this is a book they are sure to enjoy!

Dolphin Baby!
Author - Nicola Davies
Illustrator - Brita Granstrom
Publisher - Candlewick Press
Ages - 4+

Favorite Features -
  • illustrations are gorgeous and amazing - they truly make this book! I love how the illustrations give us the "sense" of entering the world of the dolphin!
  • book is filled with interesting facts about dolphins - I particularly found the one about how every dolphin has it's own whistle sound very interesting!
  • I enjoy how the book tells the "story" of a baby dolphin and also includes information and facts about dolphins
Dolphin Baby! is a beautiful book with not only a good story, but is one which will teach our grandchildren about the amazing features of these wonderful animals God created! As you enjoy this book with your grandchildren, be sure to talk with them about how God created dolphins so they would be able to do the things they need to do . . . such as giving them a special, round forehead so they would be able to make the clicking sounds they need to make to find their way around their ocean home! Read the book again and ask them to listen for the special things about how God created dolphins and then lead them in praising God for His amazing creation of dolphins! Enjoy!
