grandma's bookshelf . . . I Spy Under the Sea

It is lots of fun to play "I Spy With My Little Eye" with our young grandchildren . . . if you have a grandchild who loves to play this game, then they are sure to be delighted with the book, "I Spy Under the Sea!

I Spy Under the Sea
Author/Illustrator - Edward Gibbs
Publisher - Candlewick Press
Ages - 2-5

Favorite Features -
  • sturdy board book with a fun cut out which allows children to see a part of the next page so they can guess what they will see when they turn the page
  • colorful illustrations
  • story encourages counting and identifying sea creatures
When I read this book to Josiah, he loved it - of course I had to read it more than once! He loved guessing from the clues and the "spy hole" what sea creature would be on the next page! Use this book to help your grandchildren learn to count and identify several of the amazing creatures God created to live in the ocean. Be sure to take the opportunity to talk about these creatures and lead your grandchild in thanking God for creating such wonderful creatures! Enjoy!
