grandma's movie reviews - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

reviewed Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides when it released last year, so I thought I'd take a few moments to review the three previous Pirate's Movies - ending with Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End . . .

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End
By - Disney
Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action/adventure violence and some frightening images

Favorite Features -
  • finishes the story of Captain Jack, Captain Barbossa, Davy Jones, Will and Elizabeth along with the pirate "crew"
  • Does not disappoint as it is filled with Jack's great escapes, incredible music, lots of action and sword fighting
  • certainly provides opportunities to talk with your children about several important messages included in this movie
Once again, I love the music, the action and the story telling in this Pirate's movie, but I do have to say, this movie is NOT for young children because there are intense and frightening images in it. But for older children, teens and adults, it is a fun story.

This story again, maybe because it is about pirates, shows what happens when people make poor choices - there are consequences. Once again, characters betray and lie to other characters . . . grandparents and parents do have a wonderful opportunity to talk with their grandchildren/children about situational ethics. Was Will right to betray and lie to the others so he could keep his promise to his dad? What do they think of Jack when he lied and set up his "friends" to get what he wanted, but then in the end gave it up so he could help Will? Once again, be sure to take advantage of this opportunity by leading your grandchildren/children in talking with God about helping them learn to be wise so they will make wise decisions.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End is sure to keep your attention and leave you ready for another Pirate's movie! (You will find my review of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at this link)
