grandma's movie review - Lady & the Tramp II

One of the all-time classic, adorable and best Disney stories ever was Lady & the Tramp . . . at least in my opinion! So, a few years ago when they made a Lady & the Tramp II, I was curious to see what they would do with it; I was happy to find they did a decent job and the children who I babysat at the time really enjoy it. On August 21, 2012 Disney is re-releasing it to blu-ray and they sent me one to review!

Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamps Adventure
By - Disney
Rating - G

Favorite Features -
  • return of Jock, Trusty, Lady, Tramp and an introduction to their puppies, Scamp in particular
  • lots of color, music and a fun storyline
  • provides a wonderful opportunity to talk with your grandchildren/children about important things such as, obeying the rules, caring about and helping others instead of only caring about yourself, making good choices and what it means to be part of a family.
  • Angel says, she is "thinking of him first and myself last" - talk with your grandchildren/children about how Jesus did this for us and when we love others we are willing to put them first, too!
This story has a lot of messages in it, but the strongest message comes when Tramp tells Scamp when he has had enough of the streets and being "free", their door will always be open. What a picture of forgiveness . . . and of what Jesus does for us! When Scamp realizes he has what he thought he wanted, but it was an illusion - it isn't really what he wants, he returns to his home and family and finds them so happy to have him back! Read Luke 15 to them and talk about how Jesus loves and forgives us when we realize we have made bad choices and need His forgiveness!

Lady and the Tramp 2 is a fun story for you to enjoy with your grandchildren!
