A Yummie Recipe and Opportunity to Help a Family!

Tastefully Simple (est. 1995) - The food you love, the time you deserve. (tm)I have a recipe for Sugar & Spice Whoopie Pies which I'd like to share with you and I'd like to invite you to join me in helping a refugee family by placing an order with Tastefully Simple for delicious food your family will enjoy! I'm hostessing a catalog "party" with Tastefully Simple and all the hostess prizes will be donated to a refugee family! This family of seven was originally from the Congo and had to flee to South Africa because of the violence they all experienced. Sadly, in South Africa they continued to be threatened, so they were accepted as refugees here in the USA. This family has experienced great trauma and difficulty, but are trying to start over and experience a life where they are not threatened.

The catalog "party" is open beginning today, November 30, 2012 and will run through December 14, 2012. If you follow this link it will take you to the Tastefully Simple site where you will see the delicious items in their catalog and may place an order, if you choose to do so. If you order by December 10, 2012, you will receive your order before Christmas! Should you decide to order something, please enter me, Lynda Freeman, as the host and all the hostess gifts will go to this family.

This is the recipe . . . enjoy!

Sugar & Spice Whoopie Pies
Submitted by Rosemary (MN) HQ Resident Chef

Sugar & Spice™ Chai Bread Mix
1 egg
3/4 cup water
1 can cream cheese frosting

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine contents of Bread Mix and next 2 ingredients in a large bowl; stir to blend. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons onto a greased baking sheet to make 10-12 cookies. Smooth tops evenly and shape cookies into a round shape with a spoon. Bake 12-14 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool cookies completely. Spread an equal amount of cream cheese frosting on each of the cookie bottoms. Press a second cookie bottom on top of filling to form a sandwich. Prepare Glaze Mix as directed; drizzle over tops of whoopie pies. Chill until served. Makes 5-6 servings.
