grandma's Christmas give-away - Handprint Ornament Kit!

HANDPRINT ORNAMENT SETWhen my two children were little, we made a handprint shirt for their dad for his birthday one year. I still have this shirt with their little handprints on it . . . when Josiah spends the night, sometimes he likes to wear it as a sleep-shirt! I love handprint items because it is a wonderful reminder of children/grandchildren when they were little! So, when Signals sent me the Handprint Ornament kit to review, I was happy for the opportunity to use it with Josiah and Caleb. When they sent an additional one for me to give away . . . well, I knew someone who won it would be happy for the opportunity to save the handprints of little ones they love, too!

Handprint Ornament
Signals/Child to Cherish

Favorite Features -
  • complete kit includes air-dry "marshmallow clay", ribbon, roller, hole punch, shapes in two size and directions
  • easy to use
  • no baking - just allow it to air-dry for a couple days
I had Josiah and Caleb make their handprints this weekend - I found it was more difficult than I thought it would be to leave a handprint in the clay. It is possible it would have been easier if I had used all the clay and just made one handprint instead of dividing it for two handprints. I think I'll "embellish" the handprints by turning them into handprint snowmen - it'll be fun to make a snowpeople family which reflects the boy's family!

As I mentioned, not only did Signals send me a handprint ornament kit to review, but an additional one to give away! (USA only) If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be included in this give-away, which will be on November 19, 2012 - please comment below to let me know if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email. For each of these which you have done you will receive one entry. In addition, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win this ornament kit and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading grandma's cookie jar and for sharing it with the people you know!

  6. I remember doing something like this as a kid, but we used plaster of paris, so this looks less messy.
