crafting with grandma - Crochet a Masa Bag Purse

Most of my posts are about grandchildren and/or things you can do with or for them, but today I'm sharing some links to something for grandma . . . and mom . . . and older granddaughters/daughters. A crochet pattern for a purse! I really like making purses because I really like being able to switch out my purse from time to time, so when I was browsing on Pinterest and found a free pattern for a Masa Bag purse, I had to make one and share it with you!

I'm about half-way through making my purse . . . I'm using Red Heart Heart & Sole yarn - yes, it is a sock yarn, but by doubling it up, it is making a really pretty purse! I really like this yarn - it is easy to work with, soft to the touch and has Aloe in it! The colors are combining for a purse I'm sure I'll love - I'm using the Toasted Almond Heart & Sole yarn. I'm planning on adding a button to close it and making a liner for the inside with pouches . . . I think I'll use an old t-shirt so I can re-purpose it. (I'll post photos when it is finished so you can see how it turned out.)
Just follow this link and you'll find the free pattern along with directions for "folding" to get the unique look of this purse! This pattern goes together quickly and is a fun pattern to use to teach your granddaughter how to crochet. It is a great purse to give as a gift . . . and to add to your own collection of purses!
