grandma's cookbook - Dinosaur Cookies!

As you know, my grandson Josiah is four years old and is all boy . . . he loves stories about monsters, dinosaurs, bears, cars, super heroes and even spiders . . . of course I'm not so happy about the spider part! So, the other day when I was at the store and saw a dinosaur cookie cutter, well, I had to get it and plan to surprise him with dinosaur cookies!

Josiah and Caleb come to my house on Thursday each week for a sleep-over . . . definitely a high-light of my week and something I look forward to each week . . . so yesterday I mixed a sugar cookie recipe and had it in the refrigerator waiting when the boys arrived and then we got to work making . . . and of course sampling . . . dinosaur cookies! It was - as one might expect - great, tasty fun!

So, I'm happy to share the recipe with you - which I found on Pinterest! I "tweeked" it a bit by putting 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 1/2 white whole wheat flour and 2 1/2 cups flour. We also topped with sprinkles instead of frosting. Just follow this link, grab your favorite cookie cutters and get ready for wonderful, soft, yummie cookies! Enjoy!
