grandma's chuckles - Watching Out for Little Brother

My grandsons usually spend Thursday night at my house and all day Friday . . . I look forward to these days all week long! Not only are hugs, kisses, laps-full-of-love (when I'm holding both of them) and smiles a definite part of these days each week, but the boys say things which leave me laughing for the entire week!

For example . . . the other day when they were here, Josiah and I were talking about what he wanted to watch on tv. He thought a super hero cartoon sounded like fun. I said the one he wanted to watch might be too scary for Caleb. Josiah said, "Well . . . we could watch it and if Caleb runs from the room screaming we will know it was too scary for him!! (When I told my husband about this, it was at this point he burst into nearly uncontrollable laughter!)  I said, "But wouldn't that be too late then? Wouldn't Caleb already be scared? We need to watch out for him and pick something which won't make him run away screaming." Josiah sighed and agreed so we watched something which was more "Caleb-friendly" . . . VeggieTales The League of Incredible Vegetables! (You'll find my review of this Veggie story at this link)

So, how do you help your older grandchildren learn to develop a tender heart which watches out for their younger siblings?
