LeapFrog Learning Systems - Review

I've been working this morning on some reviews (and the announcement of a new give-away) of the new LeapFrog Monster University product . . . which I'll be posting in a bit. But first, I want to let you know about some items which would make wonderful Children's Day or birthday gifts for your grandchildren . . . the LeapFrog TAG Reading SystemLeapFrog Tag Junior Book Pal and the LeapPad learning systems from LeapFrog!

Let's start with the LeapFrog TAG Reading System. LeapFrog sent me one of these for review and I have to say I am very impressed! My grandson Josiah happened to be at my house the day it arrived so he happily opened it and sat right down to figure it out - it only took moments for him to do so and he then worked his way through the LeapReader 3D Book: Monsters University book (see my next post) which they also sent me. I love how easy it is to use LeapFrog TAG Reading System!  Josiah certainly loved how he was able to enjoy all the fun each page of this book had for him to discover! He listened as the book was read to him, one page or one sentence or one word at a time. He is just learning to read and I can see how the LeapFrog TAG Reading System will be a great tool to help him learn to be a better reader!

Each page had so many activities - along with reading; by touching characters in the illustrations he could hear what they were saying or receive instructions for activities he could do! There is a wide library of books and learning cards available to use with the LeapFrog TAG Reading System . . . which, of course, provides a lot of options for birthdays, Christmas and other special days throughout the year! :-)

LeapFrog says, "Learning becomes a magical journey with Tag touch technology! As children explore books with Tag Junior and the Tag Reader, stories spring to life with beloved character voices, exciting sound effects and fun activities. But the real magic of Tag is in what it teaches!" Children can use it to sound out words and get the sounds of letters as well! The LeapFrog TAG Reading System teaches reading, phonics, vocabulary and comprehension and is for children ages 4 through 8 years old.

When it comes to electronic "gadgets", Caleb, my almost two year old grandson, is often left out because he is too little for them. I am very happy to tell you this is not the case with the LeapFrog Tag Junior Book Pal as it is designed for children ages 1 through 4 years old! Caleb was at my house the day the LeapFrog Tag Junior Book PalLeapFrog sent me to review arrived . . . and he was thrilled to learn it was for him! LeapFrog says, "Start your toddler on the road to reading with Tag Junior, a friendly little book pal which makes board books spring to life! Little learners can build preschool skills while exploring pages, pictures and playful activities."

Caleb sat right down and started discovering how to use his Tag Junior! I love how it gives him the opportunity to play and learn with something "cool" and how it is designed for all the handling . . . and dropping and throwing which can be involved when a child this young plays with toys! It is clearly designed to be used by little ones! Not only is the unit designed well, but LeapFrog showed excellent design in making the books for this system all board books - they also will hold up to little hands playing with them! The LeapFrog Tag Junior Book Pal teaches letters, sounds and numbers and is a great tool to lay a foundation so young children will learn to read! Both of the Tag Reading Systems will provide hours of fun play and hours of learning for little ones!

The LeapPad has to be one of the best learning resources I've had the opportunity to see! Josiah LOVES his LeapPadNot only can children play games on it, but they can draw pictures, read books, take pictures, make movies . . . all while learning! This go-anywhere system is designed and built to hold up to being used by children ages three to nine and there is a solid reason why it is the #1 Kid's Learning Tablet! There are literally hundreds of games, music, books and videos which you can download as apps or buy as cartridges - all of which children will love to use and learn from while using! It is far more than a game system for sure!

If you are looking for a gift for your grandchild for Children's Day (which is this Sunday, June 9, 2013), definitely look at the LeapFrog TAG Reading SystemLeapFrog Tag Junior Book Pal and the LeapPad!
