Summer Reading - Romping Monsters, Stomping Monsters

Around this grandma's house we sometimes have "monsters" romping in the halls or stomp, stomping across the living room! These are one-eyed, all the colors in the world, monsters who are ginormous, humongous and are a lot of fun! Yes, we make up lots of monster stories when my sweet grandsons are visiting, so when Candlewick sent me Romping Monsters, Stomping Monsters for review, I knew it was a book my grandsons were sure to enjoy!

Romping Monsters, Stomping Monsters
Author - Jane Yolen
Illustrator - Kelly Murphy
Publisher - Candlewick
Ages - 3-5

Favorite Features -
  • Fun, colorful illustrations
  • Simple story about having fun with your family, about siblings getting along and asking for and giving forgiveness
  • Extra fun for children as they look for the brother monsters on each page!
This is a fun story about two little brother monsters who romp, stomp and play at a park! Enjoy it with your grandchildren and then make time to take them to a park for some romping, stomping play time together! Take a camera with you and snap a few photos - then when you get home, print them out and make your own little story book!

Be sure to also talk with them about how the brother monsters squabble at the end of the book and need to ask for and give forgiveness. Talk about times when they squabbled with their siblings and how asking for and giving forgiveness brings joy! Romping Monsters, Stomping Monsters is a fun book you and your grandchildren are sure to enjoy!
