grandma's bookshelf - One, Two Achoo! - I'm Giving One Away!

This morning when I woke up, one of my first thoughts was, "brrrrr!" The reason for this thought was because it was -14 outside . . . yes, I said, negative 14! I live in Michigan, which of course means; "frozen place"! At least this year!!!

So, what often comes with cold weather? Colds. What is a good thing to do when it is cold outside and you are spending the day inside - particularly with a sweet little one who has a cold? Read books!!!

And what book could possibly be better for a cold day with a child who has a cold? One, Two, AH-CHOO!  Well, regardless of if you have a sweet child with a cold on a cold day or not, this book which was recently sent to me by Sterling Children's Books, is a great book to snuggle up with a sweet child and enjoy together!

Richard Scarry's Readers (Level 2): One, Two, AH-CHOO! (Richard Scarry's Great Big Schoolhouse)
Illustrator - Huck Scarry
Author - Erica Farber
Publisher - Sterling Children's Books
Ages - 4-7

Favorite Features -
  • Fun story with a great message about caring for and helping others
  • Great illustrations
  • Level 2 Reader - story even little ones can begin to read!
Josiah, Caleb and I read this book together and we loved it! Josiah watched for and read all the, "One, Two, AH-CHOO!'s", which I loved because he had to pay attention to the story and watch for the letters . . . great early reading skills! I also loved how in the story Huck and Lowly are taking care of their family and friends who have colds, which gave us some important things to talk about when it came to do-able things the boys could do to help take care of someone who didn't feel well.

I love this book and I'm thrilled to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send one One, Two, AH-CHOO!  for me to review, but they are making another available for me to give away! I'll have the drawing on January 22, 2014, so if you are over the age of 18, live in the USA and would like to be in the drawing for this fun book, comment below and share your favorite thing to do for someone who isn't feeling well - I like to make a nice pot of homemade chicken noodle soup and bake some homemade bread for the person who isn't feeling their best! Of course, when it is sweet little grandsons who do not feel well, I also like to spend time snuggling them!

Additional entries in this give-away are available if you follow on Google+, Google Friend Connect, follow by liking on facebook with the tab at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email. For each of these which you have done you will receive one entry. In addition, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry (please let me know if you share!) This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win One, Two, AH-CHOO!  and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading grandma's cookie jar and for sharing it with the people you know!
