Follow this link and you'll find a photo of a button butterfly, and while I didn't find specific directions, it looks to me like they took a pipe cleaner, shaped it into a butterfly shape and glued buttons to it. Add some wire antennas and string for hanging and you have a button butterfly!
This butterfly also did not have directions, but it looks like they crumpled tissue paper a bit, colored clothes pins, added wiggly eyes, put the tissue paper in the clothes pin, added chenille wire antenna and voila! Colorful butterflies!!!
Have fun making these with your grandchildren . . . you could have them make a few extras to give to a shut-in to brighten their day . . . particularly on this, "Random Acts of Kindness Day"!
So what do you think? Are you in the mood for Spring? Might you make either - or both - of these butterflies with your grandchildren?
