grandma's movie review - When Calls the Heart - Lost & Found . . . I'm Giving One Away!

I remember when I was first married; nearly 33 years ago, I loved reading Janette Oke's books. I loved the way she crafted a story and created characters I could care about! So, when I was given the opportunity to review the DVD, When Calls the Heart - Lost & Found, I was happy to do so.

When Calls the Heart - Lost & Found
By - Janette Oke
Produced by - the Hallmark Channel/Word
Not Rated

Favorite Features -
  • Actors do a good job of presenting believable characters
  • Solid messages about family, trusting God, making right choices and coming together to help others
Word/Hallmark says, "When Calls the Heart - Lost & Found tells the captivating story of Elizabeth Thatcher, a young teacher accustomed to her high society life, who receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coal-mining town where life is simple, but often fraught with challenges. Lori Loughlin plays Abigail Stanton, a wife and mother whose husband, the foreman of the mine, along with a dozen other miners, has just been killed in an explosion. They newly widowed women find their faith is tested when they must go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads. Set against the wild canvas of a 19th century coal town, Elizabeth will have to learn the ways of the frontier if she wishes to thrive in the rural west on her own."

While the story is fairly "predictable", I enjoyed watching this movie! I really love how this movie will give families the opportunity to talk about what they might do in a truly difficult situation and how they could help others in need.
