Goodnight Songs - I'm Giving One Away!

I was recently invited to review (and give-away) a new book filled with previously unknown poems from Margaret Wise Brown, who is one of the most popular children's authors of all time; her classic, Goodnight Moon has sold more than fourteen million copies and her books have never been out of print. Several generations of children from around the world have grown up with her stories. I am happy to share this book with you!

Goodnight Songs
By - Margaret Wise Brown
Various Artists
Publisher - Sterling Children's Books

Favorite Features -
  • Twelve previously unreleased poems from Margaret Wise Brown - my favorite is, Little Donkey Close Your Eyes
  • Beautiful illustrations from twelve artists - my favorite is the illustration for the poem, Sleep Like a Rabbit by Isabel Roxas
  • Includes a CD with each poem being sung by Tom Proutt and Emily Gary; I love the harmonies and the unique sounds brought to these lullabies by a mandolin, thumb piano, electric guitar, slide guitar, slide trombone and bass harmonica!
Sterling Children's Books says; "From Margaret Wise Brown, author of the beloved Goodnight Moon, comes a previously unpublished collection of charming lullabies, gorgeously illustrated by 12 award-winning artists. An accompanying CD, with lilting songs beautifully composed and sung by Emily Gary and Tom Proutt, makes this the perfect gift to wish children a sweet goodnight."

Goodnight Songs makes a lovely and thoughtful gift for families with new babies; at least one of theses poems/lullabies is sure to become a favorite bedtime tradition!

I'm very happy to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me Goodnight Songs to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only)!  If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be in the drawing for Goodnight Songswhich will be on March 27, 2014, you may enter by commenting below to let me know your favorite lullaby; I have two favorites - one is a sweet song sung by Acapella - The Rockin Song. The other is a song I sung my grandchildren and is my own "take" on, You are My Sunshine - I sing it this way; "You are my sunshine, my little sunshine! You make me happy, all the day! I love you forever and for always! You are my sunshine today!"

Additional entries in this give-away are available if you follow on Google+, Google Friend Connect, follow by liking on facebook with the tab at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email.
