Sterling Children's Books says, "Whether you are a child, a parent, or just a regular dog lover, you are going to fall in love with Puddle Pug, the latest picture book by children’s author Kim Norman. 'Blue puddles, dew puddles, thick as turtle stew puddles . . .' Percy the Pug loves puddles of all sorts, but every one he finds is lacking. He soon realizes what is missing when he comes across a big, muddy puddle which is home to three friendly piglets and their mother. But Mama Pig is quite adamant this puddle is for pigs only, and Percy’s clever attempts to enter are all foiled. How will Percy ever find a way to play with his new friends in the perfect puddle? With adorable illustrations by the talented Keika Yamaguchi, this story of a determined puppy in search of friendship is a truly touching tale which will leave readers of all ages smiling long after the last page is turned."
I completely agree! Puddle Pug is a touching tale and it will leave readers of all ages smiling! My grandson, Caleb, loves this story . . . of course, he loves to splash and stomp in puddles, himself and he loves dogs, so a story which combines these two, "loves", well, it is sure to be a hit with him!
I love how this sweet story gives me opportunities to talk with my grandsons about how they can be friends to others; even others who may not treat them as friends! I am so very happy to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me one copy of Puddle Pug for me to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only)! If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be in the drawing for Puddle Pug, which will be on May 22, 2014, you may enter by commenting below to tell about a time when you and your grandchildren/children played in puddles! Last Summer during our Four Days of Fun, my grandsons made their own puddles with the garden hose and they had great fun splashing - and spraying each other! I had great fun watching them!
