just as grandma's cookie jar should always be full of good things, this blog will be full of good ideas, information, activities and reviews of things to help grandma . . . and grandpa, mom and dad too . . . pass on a heritage of faith to the children in their lives!
crafting with grandma - Stars & Stripes for the Fourth
Hello! Yesterday was a busy day for me - so today I thought I'd write about some ideas for Fourth of July fun! The Fourth is just a little over a week away, so consider trying some of the following to celebrate this day with your grandchildren . . .
Cover your yard with stars - make a template from cardboard then sift flour over the stars to leave your yard with white stars for the Fourth!
Make a red, white and blue wind sock by cutting the bottom off a two-liter bottle of soda, punch holes around the bottom and tie strips of red, white and blue plastic through the holes - you could use plastic tablecloths to make the strips. Decorate with star stickers and hang around your porch and from low branches.
Get white t-shirts and t-shirt spray paint in red and blue - spray your own designs, or use cardboard templates to make the shapes of stars for your own stars and stripes t-shirts!
Well, these are just a few ideas to cover your yard and your grandchildren in stars and stripes for the Fourth! Enjoy!
We did the stars in the yard last year! It was a lot of fun and they lasted for quite a while. I definitely recommend everyone try them out at least once. :)
