grandma's bookshelf - Monster Party! - I'm Giving One Away!

I have young grandsons and so stories around this grandma's house often have "monsters" in them. I have accepted the truth there will not be stories about butterflies, rainbows, flowers and other such sweet things. Oh no. The "stories" we make up here have monsters - ginormous, humongous, cranky monsters - aliens, giant robot spiders and other such "boy" things! So, when Sterling Children's Books sent me one of their new titles and I saw it was about a monster, I knew my grandsons would enjoy it! I was right! As soon as Josiah saw it, he sat right down and read it for himself! (He has been reading now for several months and so I LOVE it when he reads books!)

Monster Party!
Author/Illustrator - Annie Bach
Publisher - Sterling Children's Books
Ages - 4-7

Favorite Features -
  • Simple text rhymes - makes it easier and fun for new readers
  • Story is about monsters
  • Colorful monsters add to the fun!
  • Gives opportunities to talk with young children about how manners related to being invited to a birthday party for a friend!
This fun little story is one which will have young children, "delighted" and so "excited!" They will be filled with "glee" and shout, "Yippee!"

Sterling Children's Books says; "Monster's invited—and monster's delighted! Come and join the monster bash. There's spinning and pinning, high-fiving and jiving, and munching, crunching, and buggy-food lunching. But when it all ends, Monster must leave his fun-loving friends. There's crying and sighing—until Monster discovers a happy surprise waiting for him at home. This wacky celebration will be a hit with kids!"

Monster Party! is a fun story and I'm delighted for the opportunity to give one away (USA only). If you are over the age of 18, live in the USA and would like to be included in this give-away, which will be on August 20, 2014, you may enter by commenting below to tell me what kind of birthday parties you gave your children . . . my two had birthdays only 11 months apart, so one year I gave them a circus theme party! We had cupcakes baked in ice cream cones, made "circus" posters and played, feed the elephant (try to get a peanut in a paper towel tube, pin the tail on the lion and the children made circus animal masks from paper plates! It was fun!

Additional entries in this give-away are available if you follow on Google+, Google Friend Connect, follow by liking on facebook with the tab at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email.
