Sterling said; "Getting children excited about learning new things is always a challenge, but Children's Activity Atlas (Sterling Publishing, August 2014) does exactly this—all while instilling in them a love for travel! As a traveler myself, I was immediately taken by this collection of 13 bright, colorful maps; postcards from 6 different continents; fun stickers of wildlife, landmarks, and flags from around the world; and a personal passport to help children get from one place to another without ever making them leave their seat. As they set forth on an expedition to each region of the world, young readers will learn a number of interesting facts pertaining to the different locations along the way. Children's Activity Atlas is perfect for parents looking to get their kids excited about an upcoming trip (and keep them occupied while they’re packing), teachers planning a lesson about the different continents and countries, and children looking to continue their summer travels now that school is back in session. This fun and engaging activity book would also make an ideal addition to a piece on family travel, even if just as a tool for keeping children busy while on the plane or in the car, or a list of new travel books for young readers or educators."
I'm planning on tucking Children's Activity Atlas away to give to Josiah for Christmas - I think he is going to love it! I love how it is a fun way for children to "visit" places around this amazing world God created! Perhaps one day he will visit many of these places - like his parents and Aunt have done! I always loved Geography because I found it fun to learn about different places . . . The Children's Activity Atlas will help a new generation of children do exactly this - learn about different places and see how the world God created is so different and amazing!
I'm very happy to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me one copy of the Children's Activity Atlas for free to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only)! If you are over the age of 18, live in the USA and would like to be included in this give-away, which will be on September 30, 2014, you may enter by commenting below to tell me where you would visit if you could go anywhere in the world - here in the USA I'd go to the Redding, California area, because it is one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth! As for traveling out of the country, I'd go to New Zealand or Switzerland - because I think both places would be amazing and beautiful - and they do not have horrible, huge spiders!
Additional entries in this give-away are available if you follow on Google+, Google Friend Connect, follow by liking on facebook with the tab at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email.
