grandma's cook book - M&M, Chocolate Chip, Peanutbutter Cookies!

My three grandsons spent the night Friday, so Saturday morning we were talking about
how we will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week. Josiah thought we should have cookies on Thanksgiving, so of course, this meant we needed to bake cookies to be sure they would be good enough for Thanksgiving! The cookie he thought we should make? M&M, Chocolate Chip cookies!

As we made them, he decided he had to test the dough, but one taste was not enough to know if the cookie dough was, "good enough"! After "extended" dough tasting, he said it was, "really good"! Of course, testing the finished cookies was also required to know if the cookies were "good enough" for Thanksgiving!

So, I thought I'd share the recipe with you today - in case you need to make a batch so your grandchildren can test it to see if it is, "good enough"!
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
Mix together

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Add to butter/sugar and mix
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
Add and mix.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&Ms
Mix in and drop by teaspoons on baking sheets - bake at 350 degrees for nine minutes - or until they just begin to lightly brown. The finished cookies will be soft and very tasty! Enjoy!

Thanksgiving is just a few days away, and while I am truly thankful for many things, I am so very thankful for my grandsons and for the time I get to spend with them; I am so blessed!
