grandma's cookbook - Cinnamon Almonds

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds RecipeI realized the other day, in the years I've been writing grandma's cookie jar, I have not yet shared one of my favorite recipes with you! This is my recipe for Cinnamon Almonds!

Cinnamon almonds are a wonderful treat for any time, but especially during the Holidays, they just add a wonderful, tasty touch to your celebrations! (And, they make a very tasty gift, too!)

Making cinnamon almonds is very easy - and quick; check this recipe . . .

Ingredients -
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cold water
  • 4 cups whole almonds
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Lightly grease a 10x15 inch pan.
  2. Lightly beat the egg white; add water, vanilla and beat until frothy but not stiff.
  3. Add the nuts and stir until well coated.
  4. Mix the sugar, salt and cinnamon then sprinkle over the nuts. Toss to coat and spread evenly on the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for one hour in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally, until golden.
  6. Allow to cool, then store nuts in airtight containers.
These cinnamon almonds are so tasty! And, as I mentioned above, they make great gifts for people on your gift list!

Enjoy!
