American Girl Doll and Paperback Book - Grace, the 2015 Girl of the Year Doll
From - American Girl Dolls
Ages - 8+
Favorite Features -
- 18" Grace doll has really pretty blue eyes which open and close
- I was happy to see the sprinkling of freckles on Grace's nose
- Doll has long dark-brown hair with sideswept bangs and a tiny accent braid.
- She has a huggable cloth body, with movable head and limbs made of vinyl.
- Girls can "get to know" Grace with the Grace paperback book which is included wiht the doll
- Grace is dressed in a cute outfit: a white top with a sparkly Paris graphic, a pink skirt with a black bow on the front, a charm bracelet, gray ankle boots with gathered straps and bows on the sides and pink underwear'
American Girl says;; "This enthusiastic girl loves to bake with friends and invent new recipes. Then a trip to Paris inspires her to try new things - including turning her passion for baking into a business. Will she learn the best way to succeed?"
I like Grace. She is a lovely doll and the story which goes along with her is one which will challenge girls to not give up and encourage them to recognize what is really important in their lives!
I'm extremely happy to have the opportunity to not only let you know about Grace, but to also give one away (USA only)! If you live in the USA, are over the age of 18 and would like to be included in the drawing for Grace - which will be on May 24, 2015 (during my Month of Birthday Give-Aways), please comment below to let me know what your summers were like when you were ten! My family had a house on a lake where we spent our summers. There were woods behind the house, so between swimming in the lake and playing in the woods climbing stump fences, my summers were busy and fun!

There is a park across the street from my parents that my brothers and I used to 'live' at in the summer! We always played baseball with all the neighborhood kids and would play in the playground.

I miss those days when I was young, fishing, swimming and playing with the animals on our farm. I also loved riding my bike and taking walks in the woods and down by the creek. Wish that I could go back, one more time. Thanks for this wonderful sweet giveaway! Paula C. (tenderninnie@aol.com)

ReplyDeleteDuring the summer of my tenth year, we went to Gatlinburg, TN and spent a year there. Such fun! The rest of the summer, I would spend it with my neighbor. We would ride our bikes around the neighborhood or go rollerskating at the local rink.

ReplyDeleteI grew up on a small dairy, livestock, and grain farm in Iowa. We milked cows twice a day. In between "batches" of cows milking I would toss a baseball on the barn roof and practice catching as it came down. I also jumped rope, danced, or read books. The best part was being outdoors in the summer time to watch every sunset. As an adult I realize now how blessed my childhood was!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory from when I was ten is learning how to sew. When I was ten years old in the 1962, I asked all my neighbors for fabric and my mom taught me to hand sew a Nine Patch Block. Mom helped me put all the blocks together and Dad built a quilt frame. The best part is the whole family helped quilt, including my 2 older brothers. Lots of sore fingers later, we had a finished quilt and the best part is that I still have it today. Good memories!!

ReplyDeleteWe did a lot of local things during the summer when I was a kid (usually staying in Michigan) but we went to all sorts of fun things. One thing we always did was go to Mackinaw for a few days and enjoy the car show up there. I have many fond memories of those trips. I also got to spend a week each summer at my Aunt Pat's house, and that was a great time too. I try to keep some of those things going with my daughter and hubby! I follow on Facebook, and my daughter would adore this doll. She has a Walmart version (which she calls her American doll), but to have the real thing - the doll would go to all these great places with us!! Thanks for all of these great opportunities!

ReplyDeleteSummers we spent riding horses, working in my Dad's garden, and hanging out in the field behind our house. Great memories of fun summers!
When I was ten, we helped on the farm during the summer. We carried irrigation pipe through the fields, rogued and detasseled the corn. Driving the tractor was fun --- but summers meant work for my family. I do remember hiding behind the well house and eating tons of mulberries.
ReplyDeleteI liked on facebook, follow on email and google+. Thank you for these drawings.
My summers were typically spent outside. We lived in a very small city and a lot of us kids would play from dawn to dusk.
