grandma's bookshelf - Bunny's First Spring - I'm Giving One Away!

I was recently invited to review a new storybook by Sally Lloyd-Jones; I thought it sounded like a sweet book so it was sent to me for review. Today since I'm looking forward to Spring, I'm happy to share with you, Bunny's First Spring. (This book releases the beginning of February.)

Bunny's First Spring
Author - Sally Lloyd-Jones
Illustrator - David McPhail
Publisher - Zonderkidz
Ages - 4-8

Favorite Features -
  • I like the colorful and detailed illustrations - so will children as there are so many things to see on each page.
  • Simple story about seasons and the changes they bring.
Zonderkidz says; "When a bunny is born in spring, he sees the world as green and new and full of hope.  But as the seasons change, the bunny worries the earth may be dying.  In bestselling author’s Sally Lloyd-Jones’ latest picture book celebrating the Easter season and rebirth, nature speaks to the bunny, assuring him of something more. Award-winning artist David McPhail’s whimsical illustrations reflect the beauty of the world around us as Lloyd-Jones’ inspirational text prompts readers to celebrate the changing seasons and the miracle of nature’s rebirth."

As you read this book with your grandchildren, talk about how God created the bunny, birds, trees, frogs and all the different creatures you'll see on the pages of this book. When Spring arrives, go for a walk and see how many things you can see from the story - take pictures and then go home and make your own book with your pictures!

I'm happy to say, not only did Zonderkidz send me one copy of Bunny's First Spring for me to review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only)!  If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be in the drawing for Bunny's First Spring, which will be on February 8, 2015, please comment below to let me know what you look forward to seeing each spring; for me it is definitely the flowers . . . especially the tulips and lilacs!

In addition, you will receive additional entries if you have followed on Google+, Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email. For each of these which you have done you will receive one entry. In addition, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win Bunny's First Spring and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away!

  7. I enjoy looking for the first buds on the trees, the return of many birds, and the crocuses peeking through the ground. This would be a great book to give my grandkids for Easter. I follow on facebook and email.
