We Have a Cookie Recipe Contest Winner!

First of all, thank you to everyone who shared one of their cookie recipes in our cookie recipe contest - all of us "win" by being able to try some new cookie recipes with our families . . . which means, of course, our families, "win", too!

Secondly, thank you to everyone who voted . . . the last 24 hours of voting saw a true surge in the votes, but the winning recipe belongs to (drum-roll) Amy C! Her Seven-Layer Cookies received the most votes, so she will receive 25 additional entries in the American Girl Doll, Girl of the Year 2015 give-away (on May 24, 2015), one Berenstain Bears' Country Cookbook, and one Hot & Cheesy cookbook (Amy C., please email me your address - lyndagcj@gmail.com - by April 6, 2015 so I can have these sent to you).

When Amy C. shared her recipe with us she said; "My grandma passed away in 2011 at the young age of 99 1/2, she lived on her own until the last few months. She loved, loved, loved to cook. So much so, one time when she was baking a cake, she fell and broke her wrist. She was so upset she hadn't put icing on the cake, so she "got on up" and finished the cake before she finally called someone to let them know she fell. Tough little lady! As long as I could remember, she always made 7 Layer Cookies. Since, she no longer is here to make them, I make them every year at Christmas." She sounds like a wonderful grandma! You will find Amy C.'s Seven Layer Cookies recipe at this link.

Thank you again to everyone who participated in our Cookie Recipe Contest!
