You have time to get in on the opportunity to win this doll - if you are over the age of 18 and live in the USA you are welcome to enter this give-away! You can do so in a number of ways . . . for each time I post about this doll/give-away, you can get up to ten entries. Today, you will receive one entry if you comment below and share about something you baked as a child/teen . . . I tried to make cream puffs once . . . but they backed up quite "hard", referred to by my family as "golden nuggets"! I know how to make them so they turn out correctly now, but my first experience did not go as planned!
In addition, you will receive additional entries if you have followed on Google+, Google Friend Connect, Pinterest, followed by liking on facebook with the tab at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email. For each of these which you have done you will receive one entry. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive an additional entry (please let me know if you share). If you tweet this post, you will receive a maximum of one entry as well. This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win American Girl Doll and Paperback Book - Grace, the 2015 Girl of the Year doll and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away!
As a teen I took cake decorating classes and made many family cakes. I follow on facebook and email.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was young, my mother and I tried making a cake in the microwave in this new pan we had bought (especially for that purpose). We baked it the allotted time, and when we pulled it out of the microwave it was still gooey and we figured it needed a few more minutes, so we put it back in and added a couple more minutes time. After the added minutes we pulled it out and it was just gorgeous! We frosted it and put it to the side for dessert. Later when my dad went to cut our gorgeous cake well, it was hard as a rock, he would have needed a chisel lol
ReplyDeleteI loved to bake cookies when I was young and still do! Now I love to make them with my son and daughter :-)

ReplyDeleteMy mom was always baking chocolate chip cookies so my brothers and myself decided to make our own batch, Didn't turn out as good as Mom's since most of the eggs ended up on my brother's shoes.

ReplyDeletei'm only 20, and I haven't baked much (hopefully Grace will inspire me). My best attempt was decorating using raspberries as letters on a birthday cake.

ReplyDeleteWhat feels like eons ago I learned to make Tri-Level Brownies in Home Ec. class. I'd bake up a pan and friends would help me devour them. Now, I love to bake with my kids, who are fearless and willing to try anything.
