Sterling Children's books says; "These rascal puppies don't care if day is done and the hour has come to sleep: they want to play! So they ask for water and tissues, and beg to check for monsters under the bed. But before too long these tired puppies realize bedtime is the best time." and, "Even though it's bedtime, these mischievous kittens will do whatever they can to stay awake. But despite all their sneaky requests for milk, blankets, and pillows, they'll soon be tucked in and tuckered out!"
I thought these were both cute books and my grandsons loved them! Josiah (six years old) read them out loud right away . . . and laughed at several of the pages! Caleb (three years old) listened to Josiah read them, then he "read" them through the second time - I'm very happy to see he wants to be able to read like his big brother! Shane (20 months) took one look at the covers and began "woofing" and "meowing"! So, I'd say all three boys gave both books six thumbs up!
These books are great additions to your own library or make wonderful baby shower gifts! When you read them to your grandchildren, be sure to talk with them about how God created puppies and kittens!
As I mentioned above, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me both books for review, but they sent an additional copy of each for me to give away (USA only)! The give-away will be on May 23, 2015, so if you are over the age of 18 and would like to be in the drawing for Sleepy Puppy and Sleepy Kitty (the winner will receive both), please comment below to let me know if you have, or have had, a puppy or kitten and what you named them - we had a Basset Hound named Giggles (she looked sad so she had to have a happy name) and we had an English Springer Spaniel named Scout.
