Children's Day - Just a Week and a Half Away!

Yes, Children's Day! Say you have never heard of it?? Did you know Children’s Day observations in the United States predate both Mother’s and Father’s Day. This day to celebrate children dates from the 1860s and earlier. There are states and cities across the USA which do celebrate Children's Day on the second Sunday in June as well as many countries around the world; although they tend to celebrate it on a number of different days.

Many church denominations celebrate Children's Day as a day to remind parents each day to pass on a heritage of faith to their children. So, lets celebrate Children's Day! Let's pass on a heritage of faith to our children! And, let's celebrate the children in our lives!

We will be celebrating Children's Day at my house - Josiah thinks we should have breakfast for supper, so we will be having bacon, bacon, bacon and pancakes! Yes, my grandsons love bacon! I want my grandsons to know how very much they are treasured, so a day to celebrate them and focus on passing on a heritage of faith sounds like a good idea to me!
