Yes, there are things I'd like to do. Things I'm sure I'd enjoy, but if I have to choose between those things and spending time with my grandsons - especially while they are young - well, it is an easy call. My grandsons will "win" every time.
I know how quickly they not only, "will" grow up; I know how very quickly they, "are" growing up. I know there are a few, very precious years when they are most open to learning about God's love for them and responding to it. I know how this world wants to get them to chase after things which are not important at all. Things which will deceive them. Things which will pull them away from following, knowing and walking with God.
So, I choose the boys. I choose to spend time with them this summer instead of going on a vacation somewhere else. I choose to have the boys spend extra time at my house with an extra sleepover each week; even though I will be quite tired afterwards. I choose what matters most - passing on a heritage of faith.
