crafting with grandma - Craft Stick Wrist Bands/Bracelets

I saw this project for bracelets made out of craft sticks on Pinterest a couple years ago and thought it might be fun to try, but could never get it to work. Very disappointing.

Then, this morning I saw it again, but this time it said to boil the craft sticks . . . hmmm . . . maybe this will work!!! So, today I'm sharing the link with you - if you try it, please let me know if it works! You'll find all the specifics at the following link.

I think, if it works, the potential for it to be a project with possible applications is definitely there. For example, your grandchildren/children could make wristbands/bracelets to help them remember what they learned from a Bible adventure. They could make them as gifts for friends/family. They could make them to brighten the day of an elderly neighbor or shut-in. These are just a few ideas . . . I'm sure there are many more!

So, I will probably try it again . . . although in the interests of safety, since my grandsons are young, I'd likely boil and place in the cups myself, so my grandsons would be able to decorate them.

What do you think? Is this a project you have tried or might try?
