Sterling Children's Books says; "This old van, she passed one, shining in the rising sun. With a click clack rattle rack, ready for some fun, This old van says, 'Goodbye, one!' Take a rollicking ride in This Old Van, a joyful take on the classic children's counting song. As the colorfully painted vintage vehicle, driven by a really cool pair of grandparents, rolls down the highway, it passes one train, two bulldozers, three tractors, and four semis, right up to ten muddy motorbikes. And along the way, luggage flies off, horns honk, and the hurrying van zigs and zags—till it arrives at its destination JUST IN TIME! You won't be able to resist singing every fun verse out loud."
My grandsons were delighted to discover each vehicle represented from the story in the race at the end. I found the story delightful, the choice of vehicles fun and loved how the characters are a grandma and poppa and the story showed how committed they were to get to their grandson's race! This Old Van is a fun story you will enjoy singing to your grandchildren and they will enjoy hearing!
I'm very happy to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me a copy of This Old Van for review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only). If you are over the age of 18 and would like to enter this drawing - which will be on August 15, 2015, please comment below to tell me something you would not miss with your grandchildren - we were sure to be there when Josiah received his yellow belt in karate!
In addition if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG or at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email you will receive one entry for each of these which you have done. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive another entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win This Old Van and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading grandma's cookie jar and for sharing it with the people you know!
