So, as we look at the remainder of 2015 and at 2016, lets focus on passing our faith to the children we love. There are many ways we can do this; consider the following . . .
- Casual conversation - when we are talking with our grandchildren about day-in-day-out life, look for opportunities to connect our conversation with our faith. For example; if you notice the beautify of the changing colors of Fall, use this opportunity to talk about the beauty of God's creation. Or, as you make Christmas cookies with your grandchildren, talk about how thankful you are for the ingredients God created which you can use to make cookies. Talk about the best Gift ever, Jesus and how they can receive Him and share Him with others!
- Intentional conversation - if you know your grandchildren are facing something in particular - back to school, big test, difficulties with others, big decisions, etc., make a point to talk with them about how God has good plans for them and they can always trust Him.
- Focused activities - use resources (such as Science, the Bible & Fun) to help your grandchildren learn about God, His Word and how they can love, know and walk with Him.
- Prayer - pray for and with your grandchildren - use resources such as Deeper in 4 Grandparents & Parents, Too! Praying the Scriptures for the Children You Love
Lets recommit ourselves this Grandparent's Day to be focused and intentional about passing on a heritage of faith to the children we love!
