The LeapFrog epic . . . Definitely Epic!

I was recently invited by LeapFrog to participate in the roll-out of their new learning tablet for children; the LeapFrog epic. They sent me one to try out with my grandsons in exchange for my review - knowing my grandsons would be happy to try it out, I agreed. Today I'm delighted to share with you my opinion - and my grandson's as well - about the LeapFrog epic Tablet!

Favorite Features -

• You can set up three profiles for three of your grandchildren/children.
• These profiles allow you to set the age/grade/level of your grandchild/child, so the content is age/level-appropriate.
• Each child will have their own, "play-able" homescreen - my grandsons LOVE this!
• The "play-able" homescreens reflect the time of day (light/dark) and weather for where your child lives!
• Games/apps are personalized and updates/adjusts as children play and progress, so they continue to learn.
• Parents/grandparents are able to control what a child can access online and update/unlock as children learn and get older.
• Children can use the cameras built in to the epic.
• The epic has an Android 4.4 operating system and a 7" screen.
• I'm very happy to see it comes with a rubber bumper to protect the screen reducing the potential for it to break.
• Easy for children to use - my grandsons were able to figure out how to use it - much more quickly than I did!
• Comes with 20 Apps so children can begin playing - and learning right away - I love Word of the Day which introduces children to a new word each day - along with the meaning of the word and an example of how the word is used in a sentence and a story.

My grandsons say the epic is absolutely, "definitely" a learning tablet children will want to use! They LOVED being able to have their own homepage and how they can play and decorate it as they like. I love the way my grandsons play and have fun on their LeapFrog epic and while they have all this "fun", they are actually learning. The epic makes learning fun!

You need to know, the epic does NOT use learning cartridges - all games are digitally loaded on your epic. It is really easy to add new games as you can do so right from the epic (with parent password/controls so no unauthorized  purchases are made!).

The epic is forging new "ground" in learning tablets for children. Durable, well-designed and with features not seen before in children's learning tablets, the epic is an excellent tool for children to use to learn and grow! Well-done LeapFrog!
