Special Christmas Giveaway on November 3, 2015 - Frozen Wild

I'm very happy to share with you a beautiful book, and "beautiful" is putting it mildly! This book not only has the most amazing illustrations, but it "fits" so well with a giveaway in November, because it is about animals which live in the coldest places on Earth!

Frozen Wild: How Animals Survive in the Coldest Places on Earth
Author/Illustrator - Jim Arnosky
Publisher - Sterling Children's Books
Ages - 6-10

Favorite Features -
  • Incredible, beautiful illustrations of birds, fish and animals which live in cold, frozen places on this earth.
  • Interesting information about these animals, birds and fish - very informative.
  • Fold-out pages are lovely!
  • Encourages curiosity about the amazing world God created and opportunities for families to learn about part of God's creation!
Sterling Children's Books says; "Quietly it comes—the dark and chill of winter. And in the snow-covered fields and forests, the great northern plains, vast stretches of frozen tundra, and icy polar regions, wild animals have to survive day after day, night after night, out in the cold. How do they do it? Children can bundle up and join award-winning author, illustrator, and naturalist Jim Arnosky as he follows the tracks of otters, beavers, moose, polar bears, killer whales, penguins, fur seals, and other creatures to discover more about their lives during this frigid season. Arnosky's stunning art includes five magnificent foldouts which reveal worlds under the ice and at the farthest, frostiest reaches of the globe."

I love this book! The illustrations are amazing - beautiful and informative. The information in the book is interesting - this is a book children - and adults - will learn from and enjoy. It is also a great book to use to think about how God's creation is so amazing! He created animals, birds and fish to have what they need for living in places which get cold and frozen!

I'm very happy to say, not only did Sterling Children's Books send me one copy of Frozen Wild, so I could write my own review, but they are making another available for me to give away (USA only)! If you live in the USA, are over the age of 18 and would like to be included in this giveaway, which will be on November 3, 2015, please comment below to tell me your favorite animal which lives in cold and frozen places - I think Narwales are really interesting, and unique, but my favorite is the Snowshoe Hare.

In addition if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG or at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email you will receive one entry for each of these which you have done. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive another entry (please let me know if you share on facebook, and/or google +, and or twitter as you will be able to receive one entry for each of these which you use to share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win Frozen Wild and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away!
