November 2nd - I'm Ever So Thankful For . . . My Husband!

Image result for images for I'm thankful for my husbandAs I said yesterday; it is November . . . the month we tend to think specifically about being thankful.  While we absolutely have much to be thankful for all year long, it is a good thing to take time to focus more intentionally about being thankful. So, for the month of November I'm going to post something each day which I'm thankful for . . . and will be encouraging my grandsons to tell me something they are thankful for each time they see me this month . . . I'll be telling them what I'm thankful for as well.

Today, November 2nd, I'm thankful for my husband. This also, may sound "cliche", but it is the truth. I'm ever so thankful for my husband. My life would not be what it is without him. Dave is one of the most patient, loving and faithful people I have ever known; I'm so thankful he is my husband! We met on a volcano (Mt. Lassen - in the photo to the left) . . . the first time I saw Dave, I thought; "I'm going to marry him!" My second thought was; "Lynda, that's pretty stupid. For all I know he is married and has a dozen children!" Fortunately for me he was not and did not . . . we have been married now for 34 years; so when I think about what I'm thankful for, I am very happy to include my husband, Dave!

Look at what we find in Mark 10 . . .
But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.  Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
My husband and I are no longer two people, but one. He is a gift from the hand of God and I am every, so thankful for him!

When I talk with my grandsons about how I'm thankful for my husband; their poppa, I will also tell them about how I pray for the young women they will one day meet and marry. I pray they will be girls who grow to love God more and more . . . just as I pray they will grow to be men who love God more and more!

So, what are you thankful for?
