An Inconvenient Truth

The Miscellaneous Clock Faces ClipArt gallery offers 47 illustrations of different styles of clocks, including pocketwatches and hourglasses, and shows terminology that is used when describing the time, such as "quarter after" and "20 past." The time on the faces of each clock in this gallery can be easily read. To view general illustrations of various timepieces, please see the Clocks, Watches, and Sundials ClipArt gallery.Okay, I'm about to share a truth with you which you may not want to think about. Ready??? Here it is . . . you are not getting any younger. No matter how much you try to fool the mirror, the truth is, you are not getting any younger - neither am I.

And, neither are our grandchildren.

Why do I mention this, you ask? For one reason, because it is the truth. If we do not understand and accept the truth, we can not act upon it. And this is an important truth we must act upon.

How???

Well, since we are not getting any younger and our grandchildren are not getting any younger, it truly matters what we do to pass on our faith. For us, we must redeem the days. We must make the most of every opportunity to help our grandchildren understand how very much God loves them and how they can love Him back. We are not guaranteed a tomorrow, so what we say and do today really does matter. It matters if children have grandparents who point them to Jesus. It matters if children have grandparents who modeled what it looks like to love Jesus and grow closer to Him. It matters if children have grandparents who show the joy of Jesus in good - and bad - times.

And, since our grandchildren are not getting any younger, it truly matters if we are sharing Jesus with them, now. Most people make the decision to follow Jesus between the ages of 4 and 13 . . . just nine short years. Years which are gone in a heartbeat - or at least it seems like it. We can not afford to put off pointing our grandchildren to Jesus - they are not getting any younger.

So, inconvenient or not, we need to focus on what really matters and be good stewards of the time we have left - whether it be short or long - and be serious about passing on a heritage of faith to our grandchildren - now!
