As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.I LOVE this passage! It reminds me of several important facts, which I want my grandchildren to know . . . and believe with all their hearts! Take a look at them . . .
- God has compassion on me.
- God knows how I was formed - He remembers I am just a person.
- He knows my life is short.
- His love for me has no end.
- His love is not just for me, it is for my children's children, too!
- Remembering and obeying God matters.
Knowing these things are all true, helps me know what I need to be doing as a grandma - they are my, "how-to's"!
What about you? What is one of your favorite passages in the Bible when it comes to the "how-to's" of being a grandparent?
