Special Birthday Month Giveaway on May 1, 2016 - The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance Video Game

I was recently invited to review a new on-line video game for tweens . . . and have the opportunity to give one away as well, so thinking my grandson might enjoy trying the game out, I agreed. Today I'm very happy to share with you about this game - The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance!

The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance
Developer - Scarlet City Studios
Ages - Tween

Favorite Features -
  • It is an online role-playing adventure game children will enjoy
  • Endorsed by the American Bible Society
  • My grandson said the game is fun
  • Animation is excellent
  • Security settings give parents/grandparents control over on-line play
  • I like the message which is worked throughout the story and how grandparents/parents will be able to talk with their grandchildren/children to help them understand how it points to Jesus.
  • Bible study options will also be available.
  • Children will be able to play on-line with their friends - if you set it to allow this option.
Scarlet City Studios says; "In The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance, players join the Resistance and work with the mysterious Scarlet Man against the evil Usurper. Puzzle, quest and craft your way through a fantastic steampunk world which is ruled by the self-proclaimed Emperor’s Automatons and smothered by the poisonous fog. Craft new weapons and equipment to help you in the fight against the Automaton army. Explore the land of Aethasia in quests to restore what was stolen and corrupted when he seized control. Repower the Great Engines and help establish the Resistance as the hope of Aethasia. Work with your friends to uncover what happened to the Great Engineer. Fight in each other’s battles, share clues and tips to push back the fog in this role-playing adventure which puts you right in the middle of the Resistance’s fight for freedom."

I like how The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance gives my grandsons a video-game they can plan and enjoy with battles to fight, levels to achieve and puzzles to solve . . . all which point to Jesus! The animation is excellent and so far, the game seems to be challenging and engaging. Check this link for all the details! I'll post more about it in a couple weeks as my grandsons continue to play . . . when I'll know more about the game!

I'm very happy to say, not only was I emailed a code to play The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance for review purposes, but I have an additional code which I will be able to give away on May 1, 2016! If you are over the age of 18 and would like to be included in this giveaway, please comment below to tell me about a video game you enjoy - I like to play Scrabble with my mom and sister.

In addition if you have followed on Google Friend Connect, followed by liking on facebook with the tab in the "Find us on Facebook" box ON THE BLOG or at this link (not just liking the post) and/or have followed grandma's cookie jar by email you will receive one entry for each of these which you have done. Plus, if you "share" this post, you'll receive another entry (please let me know if you share). This will help me be able to draw names from among people who would like to win The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance and it gives you several ways to enter the give-away! Thank you for reading grandma's cookie jar and for sharing it with the people you know!

  1. We have 3 die hard mine crafters ages 6-13 in our house. I'm a Legends of Zelda and Professor Layton fan. I slipped & broke my leg a few days ago and am now finding myself bored out of my mind. This sounds like a great game to look forward to! Thanks for posting. I always enjoy your blog!

  2. When I play video games, which is rare, I enjoy Bejeweled. My children love video games, but I'm always concerned about the violence and wrong message. The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance sounds like a wonderful alternative. Thank you for the chance!
