Special Birthday Giveaway on May 29, 2016 - Mr Particular

I was recently invited to review a new book from Sterling Children's Books - and since it was about a "Super Hero" and my grandsons do enjoy being "Super", I was happy to say, "yes" to the review! Plus, Sterling is making another available for me to give away!

Mr. Particular: The World’s Choosiest Champion!
Author & Illustrator - Jason Kirschner
Publisher - Sterling Children's Books
Ages - 4-12

Favorite Features -

  • Fun story about being "particular"
  • Children will enjoy the illustrations which are in a "comic book" format
  • Children will identify with being "super heroes" and will enjoy the story
  • Excellent messages about friends, getting along, helping others, and being particular - great conversation starters!
Sterling Children's Books says; "Meet Mr. Particular—the world’s choosiest champion! This superhero’s super picky: he says NO to squishy mud, gross green things, tucked-in shirts, humming, and anything with coconut. But, when his friends in the 'Super-Duper Group' finally get fed up with his fussiness, can Mr. Particular prove even the super-squeamish can save the day? This fun comic-book-style story will delight even the most finicky kids!"

Josiah read through Mr. Particular: The World’s Choosiest Champion! as soon as he saw it - he says children are sure to enjoy it! I agree! The story is fun, the illustrations are engaging and the message is one which will encourage children - brave or super-squeamish! I enjoyed the start of Mr. Particular: The World’s Choosiest Champion! . . . "You wouldn't know by looking at it, but inside this house lives the greatest hero of our age. Able to lift minivans with his bare hands . . . Faster than the choo-choo at the zoo . . . Always, always in bed by 7:30 PM sharpo. It's . . .  Mr. Particular!" Fun and clever! I especially love how the story ends with "Mr. Particular" putting aside his fear of "mega-squisy" mud to save his friend who was stuck and afraid of bees. Solid message of sacrifice, and helping a friend - excellent!
