Summer Fun - Legoland & Sea Life!

My grandsons are like many children - they love Legos. They can play for hours with their Legos, so when a Legoland Discovery Center went in just two hours away, I knew the boys would enjoy checking it out. I contacted Legoland and asked if it was possible to review it for my blog - they said, "yes" and invited me to also check out Sea Life as well. (So you know, Legoland Discovery Centers/Sea Life provided tickets for my family to visit for review purposes.)

My son, daughter-in-law and grandsons visited both Legoland and Sea Life a couple days ago, and today I'm very happy for the opportunity to share their experience with you, but first, some information about Legoland Discovery Centers.

There are currently 15 Legoland Discovery Centers around the world with eight in the USA. My family visited the Legoland Discovery Center near Detroit. One of the nice things about Legoland Discovery Center is they provide hours of indoor fun for families with children ages 3 to 10. Check out some of the features you'll find on your visit . . .

Rides & Attractions
Legoland says; "It's like jumping into a giant box of LEGO bricks and see what
your imagination will create in our world of color and creativity. There are plenty of activities for every kid to enjoy!"

My grandsons agree! They told me they loved it and had so much fun! Josiah (seven years old) told me his favorite parts were the Merlin's Apprentice Ride, the Kingdom Quest Laser Ride and the Lego 4D cinema. Caleb (four years old) told me his favorite part was, "All of it!!!" Shane, (two years old) loved the Lego Duplo Farm.

The photos showed smiles, laughing and family fun were had by all, so this grandma is a fan of Legoland Discovery Centers!

My grandsons also loved Sea Life - Josiah thought it was so cool to be able to touch Horseshoe Crabs and Star Fish in the touch pools and Caleb and Shane loved the clear tunnels where they were able to see sharks, rays and lots of fish close up! The boys all loved the sea horses, sharks, jelly fish, octopus, turtle and the enormous spider crab . . . creepy (my opinion) and cool (their opinion) at the same time!

What isn't there to love about indoor aquariums? There are eight Sea Life Aquariums in the USA and 39 additional centers around the world. Some of the Sea Life Aquariums match with Legoland Discovery Centers here in the USA, so you would want to check to see if the one you want to visit has both or not.

Sea Life provides ten different exhibits to explore and in the afternoon there are talks and demonstrations you may participate in to get even more out of the experience. The really fun part of Sea Life is how children are able to come face-to-face with creatures they may have only been able to see before in books and/or on tv.

My grandsons told me they thought both Legoland Discovery Center and Sea Life were great fun, they definitely would like to go back and believe other children would love to go to both places as well. My daughter-in-law said it was a lot of fun for the family and with both Legoland and Sea Life together, they made a nice day of activity and family time.

Sea Life has more than 250 species for you and your grandchildren to discover close-up. They say; "What's your favorite sea creature? Are you a shark lover, seahorse fanatic or a clownfish groupie? Perhaps it’s the graceful jellyfish or the clever octopus you love the most. Maybe you simply can’t decide! Here at Michigan SEA LIFE Aquarium, you can make up your mind and see them all - from the curious and the rescued to the rare and the enigmatic. Plus, you’ll be able to get closer to them than ever before!"

If you have a vacation trip planned, check to see if there is a Legoland/Sea Life near where you are going - they would make a fun additional stop on your trip. If you do not have a vacation planed this summer, consider checking to see where the nearest Legoland/Sea Life is to where you live and plan a, "day-cation".
