Let's be Grandparents Who are Quick to Say, "Thank You"!

We tend to be quick to ask God for a variety of things through prayer; as we well should be. Over and over throughout Scripture God tells us to call upon Him and He will hear, listen, answer and pay attention to our prayers. He wants us to talk with Him!

And, as grandparents, there are many things we want to talk with God about; we pray for our grandchildren to have eyes which are open, able to see the truth and for God to draw them to Him. We pray for them to make wise choices in the areas of friends and in their day-to-day living. We pray for them to make the choice to walk with God; and to return to Him if they have strayed. These, and many other things are what we pray about; and should pray about.

However; while praying for these things is what we should do, so is thanking God. We need to be people who do not just pray about our requests, but who voice our thanks to God. Look at Psalm 100 -
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Consider making this your prayer today and throughout the coming month as your grandchildren return to school . . .

Thank You God for Your many blessings; for making us and for allowing us to be Your people. I praise and thank You for You are Good and Your love lasts forever! Thank You for Your great faithfulness for my life and for my children and their children as well! Please keep my eyes open as I go through this day, week and month, so I am able to see how You show Your goodness, love and faithfulness to me. Please open the eyes of my children and grandchildren so they are able to see Your great faithfulness, goodness and love, as well. Amen!
