Yes, We Have Great Influence . . . And It Matters!

As grandparents (and parents, too) we have great influence when it comes to the children we love. What we say and do . . . and what we do not say and do . . . impacts them in ways which may last throughout their lives and carry over to future generations. This is the truth.

And this truth should do several things . . .
  • Drive us to our knees. We need to be serious about praying for our grandchildren/children . . . and with them. (By the way, this is why I wrote Deeper In 4 Grandparents & Parents, Too! Praying the Scriptures for the Children You Love - Psalms Edition - use it to guide your own prayer time and to direct you as you pray with the children you love!)
  • Provide focus for us to be sure how we spend our remaining days on Earth are spent in a way which really matters . . . by passing on our faith to our grandchildren.
  • Help us search out resources and opportunities for us to learn more about passing on our faith, so we are better able to do so. (Check out the Legacy Coalition and the Legacy Grandparenting Summit as they are designed to help you do exactly this!)
This picture is a fun way to remind us of the influence we have (while I'm not so sure about Taylor Swift, we do have great influence). Yes, what we say and do . . . and what we do not say and do . . . impacts the children we love; and the generations which follow! Let's focus upon being intentional about pointing them to Jesus!
