"Teach Me Your Way, Lord" . . . Let's Make This Our Prayer
As we go through the coming week, let's draw our thoughts and prayers for our grandchildren to Psalms 86 -
Please help my grandchildren/children remember they can ask You to help them depend on You, count on You from morning to night, and know with confidence they can put themselves in Your merciful hands! Please give them hearts which are quick to thank You for the confidence it gives them to know You pay attention to their prayers and listen to their cries for help. Please remind them they can know You will answer their prayers! As they go through this day and see the world around them, I pray they will rejoice in the truth there is no one like You and nothing compares with Your works! Please train them to walk straight, so they will follow Your true path. If they should experience difficult and very sad times when they might despair, please help them know they can trust You to put them together, one heart and mind so, undivided, they will worship You in joyful fear! I pray as they go through life; both the good and the difficult, they will be able to see how You show Your great love and how You snatch them from the brink of disaster! Please fill their hearts with joy in knowing You are tender, kind, and not easily angered and help them experience Your immense love today, so they will never, never quit. Please look them in the eye and show them kindness, give them the strength to go on, and the peace of knowing You will save them, because they are Your dear, dear children. Please help them see today how You make a show of how much You love them and help them draw strength from knowing You are gently and powerfully putting them back on their feet. Thank You for Your great love for us; I love you, too! Amen! (From Deeper In 4 Grandparents & Parents, Too! Praying the Scriptures for the Children You Love - Psalms Edition)
Yes! Our God hears, answers and pays attention to our prayers and we can put ourselves and our children and grandchildren in His merciful hands! Let's be faithful to pray and ask Him to help them trust His faithfulness and know the joy of walking with Him!
