What Truly Matters!

It is all so easy for life to become busy; too easy. We have family, work, church, places where we volunteer and the list goes on. All of these require time from us, and there is only so much time in a day. It is easy for us to be so focused on these things; things which are important, yet when all is said and done we end up losing sight of those things which truly matter.

As grandparents, we all know how very fast children grow up. It is easy when we are parents; especially when our children are young, for us to feel tired, worn out and wonder if our children will ever grow up. But they do. And they grow up quickly. We grandparents know this, because our children grew up; quickly.

So, as we are blessed with the opportunity to spend time with our grandchildren - throughout their lives, we need to remember how fast they grow up and keep our focus on what truly matters; having them grow to be people who know and love God.

I pray every day for my grandsons to be people who grow to know and love God more and more every day. My grandsons know I pray for this; they have heard me pray it on many occasions. I love when my grandsons want to pray . . . the oldest one recently told me, "I'm going to pray like you do, grandma." He then prayed, "Dear Jesus, please help me love You more and more every day!I can not even begin to express the joy in my heart at hearing him say and pray this!

It is my heart's desire for my grandsons to grow to be people who know and love God, more and more throughout their lives; this is what truly matters!
