"Keep on being faithful to what you were taught and to what you believed. After all, you know who taught you these things. Since childhood, you have known the Holy Scriptures that are able to make you wise enough to have faith in Christ Jesus and be saved. Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God’s servants to do all kinds of good deeds." (CEV)

Keep Being Faithful!
Each morning as I listen to the news I am reminded of 2 Timothy 3 where it says in the last days people will love only themselves and money. They will be proud, stuck-up, rude, and disobedient to their parents. They will also be ungrateful and hateful. Their words will be cruel, and they will have no self-control or pity. They will hate everything which is good and will be puffed up with pride. Instead of loving God, they will love pleasure - they are evil people who pretend to be what they are not and will become worse than ever, as they fool others and are fooled themselves. (CEV)
Does this not describe the world in which we - and our grandchildren live? Especially with the election just a few days away? We could easily become discouraged, and even afraid, but then Paul goes on to tell Timothy the following in verses 14-17 . . .
Just as these verses were true when Paul wrote them to Timothy, they are true for us today! We need to continue to be faithful to what we were taught and what we believe. We need to trust God's Word and pass our faith to our children's children. We need to let them know God knew what He was doing when He created them - I tell my grandsons God knew what He was doing when He created them to be boys, and I'm ever so glad He made them to be boys! (If they were girls, I'd tell them God knew what He was doing when He created them to be girls and I'm so glad they are girls!) This is a message our grandchildren need to hear from their youngest ages. They need to hear God knows what He is doing and they can trust Him!
And we need to remember this, too . . . especially when we listen to the news in the morning and prepare to vote.
