As Intentional Christian Grandparents, we want to pass on a heritage of faith to our grandchildren. This means we want to help our grandchildren understand how very much God loves them and how they can choose to make Him the Lord - or Boss - of their lives. Once they make this all-important decision, we want to help them learn how to love, know and walk with God; both now and throughout their lives, so one day, they will be Intentional Christian Parents and then Intentional Christian Grandparents and pass their heritage of faith to the children they love as well.For us to do these things, we have to be people who love, know and walk with God, as we can not pass to others what we do not have and do ourselves. This of course means we are people who pray (check a post at this link I wrote earlier this month about being intentional when it comes to praying for your grandchildren) and who are faithful to spend time in God's Word ourselves, so we are able to have a real walk with God. I really love this new Bible! I love the cover . . . it is available in such a pretty color and with the embossed flowers, it is just such a lovely Bible to study, write in and carry with you on Sundays - or any other time you are at church or a study group. (The brown and black editions will be especially nice for grandpas, too!) I especially appreciate the thicker paper; not only for writing notes, but with my MS, it makes it easier for me to turn the pages. I'd like the font to be larger than 10 point, but do appreciate it is a larger font than typical. Since I take notes in church, I am very happy to have more room to do so - in text! The NIV Journal the Word Bible Large Print Edition, is wonderful for your own use and truly does make an excellent Bible to give as a gift . . . maybe to a first-time grandparent, or to any grandparent, to encourage note-taking which will one day be a treasure for future generations!

I would write my favorite scriptures the one that I have learned and follow.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to pass this on to my granddaughter that has such a heart for Jesus and is so interested in learning about him. I think I'd love to write notes about the prayers I say for her. Using certain verses for different prayers. I know it would bless her one day. And it certainly would bless me doing it.
