But today I’m writing about another resource which will help
you be intentional in passing on a heritage of faith to your grandchildren.
This resource is the Bible. Yes, the Bible. As grandparents, we clearly read
the Bible to our grandchildren while they are young, but there has to come a
point in their lives where they make the choice to read the Bible for
themselves. They will not grow in their walk with God, if they do not become
people who read God’s Word for themselves.

So, yesterday when my oldest grandson told me he has started
reading his Bible I
could not be happier! He began at Genesis 1:1 (a very good place to begin!) and is up to chapter six. He told me; “I started reading my Bible and it is way more interesting than I thought it would be!” This boy is a reader – he is currently reading Lord of the Rings, several other chapter books and some science project books – he is eight years old! I am SO happy he is reading his Bible and is enjoying it!

I recently was invited by Zonderkid to review a new Bible for
children – which I’m
going to share with you today. If you are looking for a Bible you could give to your grandchildren to help them develop the habit of reading God’s Word, this Bible is an excellent choice!
NIV Investigator's Holy Bible
going to share with you today. If you are looking for a Bible you could give to your grandchildren to help them develop the habit of reading God’s Word, this Bible is an excellent choice!
NIV Investigator's Holy Bible
Publisher – Zonderkidz
Ages – 6-10
Favorite Features –
1. NIV for ease of understanding
2. Features to help children understand what is happening, who they are reading about and what it means to them – “The Evidence” introduces each Book of the Bible, “Breakthrough!” answers questions children might ask as they read, “The Scene” describes the locations where the Bible events happened, “The Witnesses” introduces children to Bible people, “Check the Facts” asks children questions about what they have read to see what they have learned and “Case Closed!” is found at the end of each book of the Bible to wrap it up and summarize what they read and how it applies to their own lives!
3. I LOVE the “Cased Closed!” feature!!!
Zonderkidz
says; “Have you ever used a magnifying
glass? It makes everything bigger and easier to see, right? Detectives and
scientists magnify things to understand them better. Well this is just what
this Bible does—it’s a magnifying glass to help children understand the Word of
God better.
The Bible is a gift from God, but many of the
things written in the Bible are hard for children to understand. In fact,
sometimes they’re downright mysterious to them. Using child-friendly language
and a detective theme, the two color NIV Investigator's Holy Bible explains the Bible text for children
ages 6–10. Two central mystery-solving characters invite children to
investigate the Bible using the following features:
·
Evidence—Bible book introductions answer what kind of book it is, who wrote it,
what happens, and the ‘best part’
·
Breakthrough—answers questions kids might ask, such as ‘Who were the Philistines?’
and ‘What is The Spirit of God?’
·
Scene—includes descriptions highlighting geographical information pertinent
to a verse
·
Witness—explains the meaning and history behind Biblical names
·
Detective—quizzes students on what they have learned
·
Case Closed—explores how the events of a particular book of the Bible relate to
children as individuals”
I LOVE
this Bible! I love how the NIV Investigator's Holy Bible is designed to focus upon helping children understand
God’s Word. I am so happy my grandson is discovering the joy of reading God’s
Word for himself and Bibles like this are exactly the tool we want to put in
the hands of our grandchildren to help them understand God’s Word and enjoy
reading it!
I’m delighted to say, not only did Zonderkidz send
a copy of the NIV Investigator's Holy Bible for me to review, but they are making another available for me
to give away (USA only)! If you are over the age
of 18 and would like to enter this drawing for the NIV Investigator's Holy Bible - which
will be on March 15, 2017, please comment below to tell me your favorite Bible
adventure – I love many, but especially the account of Jehoshaphat found in 2
Chronicles 19 & 20!

I like the journey of the Israelites travelling from Egypt to the Promised Land. Many adventures there. I follow on Facebook and email. This Bible would be a great resource for Children's Ministry.
ReplyDeleteI think Esther was one of the most adventurous women in the Bible. She certainly was a risk-taker. I follow on Facebook, email through my Feedly reader and Google Plus. This would be a great prize to have in our Bible Bucks store in May.
