This year my grandsons will be in preschool, first grade and fourth grade - they are growing up so quickly. It is one thing we as grandmas do know . . . these sweet children grow up quickly - very quickly. It may not feel like it in the day-to-day living of life in a family with children, but the truth is they are grown and on their own before you know it.
So today, whether you will be seeing your grandchildren this evening when they arrive for a sleepover - as I will be, or they live far away, take time to pray for them. Thank God for the blessing of grandchildren/children, ask Him to protect their hearts and minds and give them a wisdom beyond their years, so they are able to see and know the truth. Pray for them to have godly friends who will encourage them in their walk with God - and who your grandchildren will be able to encourage in their walk with God as well.
If your grandchildren/children have wandered from God, pray for their eyes to be open, ask God to protect them from the evil one and to draw them to Himself. Jesus came to draw us to Him and before He returned to Heaven He prayed and asked God the Father to protect His disciples from the evil one. These men walked with Jesus, ate the bread and fish He multiplied from a young boy's lunch, saw Him bring Lazarus back to life after he was dead for three days, watched as He healed lepers and gave sight to the blind. They heard Him speak. They watched Him work. And yet, Jesus prayed for them to be protected from the evil one. If these men who actually walked with Jesus needed this protection, then certainly we and our grandchildren/children do as well.
So, take time today to bring those you love before God in prayer - it does make a difference. What better way to end the Summer and start the Fall!
Thank you! I've got my two grandblessing's for a while. We are making wonderful memories.
